WIsH - Welsh Innovations in Healthcare
The Partnership
WIsH has been established by the Welsh Assembly Government to provide initial resources for the identification and exploitation of innovations and intellectual property within the NHS.
The contract to create WIsH was awarded to a partnership of Angle Technology and TrusTECH®.
The partnership brings substantial intellectual property management and commercialisation experience to WIsH.
ANGLE Technology is a specialist consulting and operating company dedicated to all aspects of the development of technology-based industry including:
- commercial exploitation of research and technology for example working with universities and other research centres to generate commercial income;
- development and operation of support services and infrastructure such as incubators, industrial support units and skills programmes;
- consultancy to Government and development agencies on policies and programmes to stimulate the development of technology industry;
- consultancy and participation in growing technology companies particularly in the areas of raising finance, acquisitions and market entry strategies, as well as spin-out and technology licensing for larger technology companies – ANGLE has developed its own portfolio of strong technology-based companies and the strength of the Company’s venture model has been a key factor in its successful flotation and the continuing reputation of the Group amongst investors, business managers and technology stakeholders.
TrusTECH is part of the NHS Innovations Hub network across England. TrusTECH provides innovation and intellectual property management services to over 60 NHS organisations throughout the North West of England and North Wales. TrusTECH has an expert team with significant experience of working with NHS staff and an in depth understanding of the nature of NHS organisational culture as it relates to innovation management and exploitation. TrusTECH has a track record of license deals based upon NHS IP and other R&D and business related services.
